About this program

The OPTions Initiative supports innovative approaches to improve access to pregnancy termination and develop next-generation methods in settings with legal grounds to support it. Funding ranges from $250K–$3M CAD across two focus areas: improving access through self-care models, facility services, and market development; and developing new or improved abortion methods including reformed drugs, devices, and novel compounds.
