About this program

The Critical Minerals Innovation Fund (CMIF) supports Ontario-based projects advancing research, development, and commercialization of innovative technologies and solutions in the critical minerals sector. Eligible private-sector businesses can receive up to $500,000 per project, covering up to 50% of eligible costs, for projects in areas such as battery supply chain, deep exploration and mining, and mineral recovery.
